Informations that premises of the Kikinda Reception Center for migrants are under video surveillance are posted and the complete medical documentation of migrants has been transferred to the infirmary and will be available only to medical personnel, Commissariat for Refugees and Migration stated in the notice about the acting upon the recommendations of the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM). The Commissariat, in agreement with the Ministry of Health, estimated that the current engagement of medical personnel - 3 hours during working days - is adequate to the needs of migrants and secured the funds for solving the problem with wastewater, so the planned activities will be carried out after the transfer of ownership over the land.

Two field social workers were hired for migrants' protection, they are in the Reception Center several times a week and are also available twenty-four hours a day. The Kikinda Center for Social Work informed the NPM that individual interviews were conducted with all unaccompanied minors and that the initial assessments were made, on the basis of which some of the minors were placed under the direct care of the Center. They also sent requests to social welfare institutions for more adequate accommodation for minors, but there are not vacant seats in these institutions. The Center for Social Work sent to the NPM a detailed report on the undertaken measures in cases of reported domestic violence and in order to provide protection to victims of violence and other vulnerable categories of migrants, as well as on the other field worker activities in the Reception Center. The report also shows that the Center for Social Work has established regular communication with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and other state authorities and that field workers had trainings on work with the migrant population. It was also emphasized that the Center for Social Work has asked for six new employees on several occasions, since the lack of staff is a major problem for fulfillment of all foreseen duties.

The NPM visited the Kikinda Reception Center on November 21, 2017 in order to monitor the acting upon the earlier sent recommendations. NPM made the Report on this visit, with recommendations for further improvement.
