Acting on the recommendations of the NPM, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration improve the system of coordination and governance in a reception center for migrants in Presevo, whose functioning is very complex, bearing in mind that it involves representatives of various authorities  and services, and the fact that through it daily passing a very large number of refugees / migrants. House rules are translated in English, French, Arabic and Farsi, as well as notice of the possibility of filing complaints of corruption (in English and Arabic language). Measures were taken to improve the hygienic conditions in the Centre and its immediate surroundings, three tents are provided in which refugees / migrants can be accommodated while awaiting registration, order taking cover during bad weather conditions. It also undertaken concrete measures for providing rooms that will be accessible to persons with disabilities, as well as a special office where unimpeded and confidential conversation can be conducted between social workers and especially vulnerable categories of refugees / migrants.

The Ombudsman is carrying out the work of the National Mechanism for Prevention of Torture (NPM) in September 2015 visited the reception center for migrants in Presevo, as well as the competent authorities who treat refugees / migrants, who in the Republic of Serbia are coming in large numbers from the direction of Macedonia.

Acting on the recommendations of the NPM, the Border Police Station at Belgrade airport "Nikola Tesla", has introduced a system for keeping track of all persons who express an intention to seek asylum in the Republic of Serbia, so that each of them are photographed and fingerprinted. For performing of these tasks the necessary equipment has been provided, as well as "Papillon system". The officers of the border police station in Belgrade were trained to work on this System. Measures were taken for the construction of airport facilities for accommodation of foreigners who do not fulfill the conditions for entry into the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with the standards. In order to establish and keep records on persons who are placed in this room, Border Police, based on the recommendations of the NPM, will take measures within their jurisdiction to initiate a draft on Law on records and data processing in the field of internal affairs, predict data processing for these persons.

NPM in June 2015, visited Belgrade "Nikola Tesla" in order to monitor the treatment of police officers and airport security toward migrants / asylum seekers and persons who are temporarily in a special area of ​​the airport, because they do not fulfill the conditions for entry into the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

Acting on the recommendations of the NPM, the Shelter for Foreigners in Padinska Skela provided psychological support to persons who are waiting deportation. Also, they took measures to adapt premises and to improve the hygiene in them.

The NPM carried out, in August 2015, a visit to the Shelter for Foreigners in Padinska Skela in order to monitor implementation of NPM recommendations to improve the treatment of migrants / asylum seekers in the Republic of Serbia.

NPM team, on 5 February 2015, visited the Special Prison Hospital in order to monitor the implementation of the recommendations from the Report on the visit of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) to Republic of Serbia, from 2011.
