Acting on the recommendations of the National Preventive Mechanism, representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration began with informing and advising migrants in the parks near the Faculty of Economics and the main Belgrade Bus Station Arrivals Gate (informal venues at which migrants are rallying) about care and accommodation at the Asylum Centre in Krnjača. Also, Commissariat, in cooperation with the City of Belgrade, organized transport by bus for migrants from the parks to the Centre in Krnjača. In order to enhance security of migrants and other persons in parks, police officers from the City of Belgrade Police Directorate are visiting the parks every day during 24 hours, while police patrol units, in accordance with security assessments, occasionally visit the parks.

National Preventive Mechanism visited the informal venues at which migrants are rallying in Belgrade in July of 2016, with the purpose of monitoring the treatment of migrants. After the visit, NPM made the Report with recommendations for authorities to eliminate the identified deficiencies.
