Acting on the recommendation of the National Preventive Mechanism to display information on the rights of persons refused entry to the Republic of Serbia and on the procedures for exercising these rights, as well as how they can contact the relevant domestic and international organisations, in the room at the Airport "Nikola Tesla" in which they are held, Border Police Directorate informed Ombudsman that the informations and contact numbers of relevant organizations are displayed in a visible place in the room.

In addition, Border Police Station Belgrade, to ensure clear and precise communication between the police officers and the foreigners when necessary, will demand the engagement of an interpreter for the corresponding language from Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The National Preventive Mechanism visited the Border police station Belgrade and the room in the transit area at the Airport "Nikola Tesla" on 17 November 2016. The Report has been made about this visit, with recommendations of measures to improve the treatment of foreigners who have been denied entry in the country.
