On July 5. 2017, the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) visited the Belgrade Police Stations Stari Grad and Savski Venac, in order to follow acting upon the recommendations which NPM has addressed after previous visits to these stations, as well as upon the recommendations of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) addressed after the visit to the Republic of Serbia in 2015.

Also, the NPM team visited the Administration for Foreigners of the City of Belgrade Police Directorate on the same day, in order to monitor the treatment of migrants and asylum seekers.

These visits have not been previously announced and police officers have fully cooperated with the NPM and enabled it to fulfill it's mandate.
