On May 31 and June 1, 2018, the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) made regular visits to the Subotica, Sombor and Kikinda Reception Centers, in order to monitor the treatment of migrants and the conditions in which they reside in these centers. At the same time, it visited the HorgoŇ° and Kelebija Border Crossings, where the NPM was introduced with the current possibilities for migrants to continue their journey.

Apart from the representatives of the Protector of Citizens, representatives of the Provincial Protector of Citizens - Ombudsman and the association Belgrade Center for Human Rights were also part of the NPM team.

Officials from the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration from all visited centers, as well as police officers working at border crossings, have established full cooperation with the NPM.
