On 24 January 2013 in the premises of the Ombudsman, the common meeting was held between NPM and representatives of SPH "Sveti Vračevi," SPH "Dr. Slavoljub Bakalović" as well as with representatives of the Ministry of Health.

On 29 November 2012 in the premises of the Palace of Serbia it was held a Conference "The rights of persons during the police detention". Representatives of the Ombudsman, the Provincial Ombudsman, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal - Police Academy and other institutions and non-governmental organizations who cooperate with the Ombudsman in performing duties as Serbian NPM, discussed and presented their works on main subject of the Conference.

On 16 October 2012, in the Ombudsman Office was held Workshop on "The rights of persons with mental and intellectual disabilities and previous experience of NPM in monitoring social institutions where are persons with mental disabilities". Lecturer of that event was Ms Eva Szeli, known expert in the field of the rights of persons with mental disabilities and a professor at the University of Arizona.

On 5 October 2012 in the Office of the Ombudsman was held a meeting between National Preventive Mechanism and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia on the subject "Joint consideration of the report sent to the police departments / stations in the first half of 2012 "

b_280_0_16777215_00_images_stories_migranti_frontex_i_npm.jpgThe emergence of illegal migration, illegal treatment of migrants in European countries and the challenges in monitoring violations of their human rights during their deportation to the country, were the topics of the 9th thematic workshop of the Network of European National preventive mechanism (NPM), which took place on 12 and 13 June 2012 in Belgrade, Hotel in Moscow. Greetings at the opening of the workshop were instructed by the Ombudsman of Serbia Sasa Jankovic  and Markus Jaeger, director of the Council of Europe Coordinating bodies for immigration and asylum. 9th thematic workshops was organized by Council of Europe in cooperation with the Trust Fund for Human Rights and the Association against Torture.
